Do we give just so we may receive? I would hope not. If our motivation for tithing, helping the poor, donating to charity, is for self gain, then it is of no value to God.
Yes, He will still use it for Kingdom work, but He will not honor us for our gifts.
Godly giving comes from the heart of the one who has a heart for the LORD. If we give because He gave for us, and have love in our hearts, then the rewards are great for our spiritual benefit. We may also reap great material blessings from God, but let us not give with these in mind.
Rather, let us give because He did, and because His love lives within us. This is true giving.
